LAUAN502 : Study Task 8 : Commissions

Based upon the fact that I've already experience a professional hourly-paid position with RT and more or less have a good confidence in my ability to work as well as the quality of my work (close the standards of mid-position designers ) , I would put my day rate at 150-180 pounds, ( for short, one-off project would be around 200 ) ? Which falls in line that of the junior designer market which is pretty reasonable in my opinions. If hour-based , I would definitely take no less than 20-30 US$ for a long-term position. I think after gaining 1-2 year of professional work , my day rates may go up to 200-250 as my more experience is gained and documented.

Right now, my current freelancing experience is done through Patreon which provides excellent opportunities for me to not only continue on my personal project but received a decent amount of earning through their subscription service. I divided the customers into different tiers of supporters, each having access to a certain amount of content depending on their tier level, this includes, HD images, Photoshop files or tutorials.

The way I based the prices on here usually have a lot more consideration for the audience rather than myself, meaning I tend to set up really affordable subscription tiers with the hope of retaining the audience in the long run. Moreover since, most of what I post are mainly my own projects, therefore a lower price might help in retaining the customers as well, since its not always their desired content. Its really a tricky balance between my own benefits and the customer's but I think for now, I've got it down pretty good.
