At the end of last year, I found myself having much more of
a deep interest and focus on the area of practice I want to do going forward
into Level 6 and beyond –a specialist in concept design and illustration,
particularly character design for movies, animation and games. In this regard,
opportunities to worked on several professional projects starting from the beginning
of last year up till now, have had major impact on me, not only enabling me to
have a much better in-depth knowledge of the professional design process and
other business-oriented practices, but also being an insight on the current level
of my practical work, from the range /type of clients I’m attracting. This has
been a major boost of confidence for me, and reaffirmed my desire to get a
standing position within a game/animation studio after this year of study, major
or small.
For me personally, I just find being a part of a larger team much
more engaging than solo-work and it certainly had taught me a lot about
listening and appreciating ideas from others, professionalism, time-management
(which I pride myself on) and the proper division of workload.
In other areas,
the summer period had also a period of MAJOR growth in my online presence,
ranging from Twitter to my Patreon, which already had had positive effects on
my professional practices. ( attracting work opportunities and providing financial
stability) and in that sense, I hope to grow even more this year.
